Initially, the low-pressure pump transfers fuel to the high-pressure pump. This rail evenly disperses the fuel to individual high-pressure fuel injectors, with each cylinder possessing its own injector. The 4th generation EA888 engine has many new technological and mechanical advances that is revolutionary in the automotive world but all that glitters is not gold, there are still areas of improvement for the EA888 engine. An inherent drawback of engines that are solely reliant on direct injection lies in their vulnerability to carbon buildup in the intake valves. This occurs due to the absence of fuel sprayed over the intake valves, allowing carbon accumulation to gradually develop over time. Failure to address this issue can lead to further complications in the engine's operation. Moreover, rectifying carbon buildup is a costly job, often necessitating the use of walnut blasting to clean the air intakes thoroughly. The process involves significant labour and meticulous care in disassembling the engine, which could result in expenses that can amount to thousands of dollars. (Drivecave Jackson)

Despite the presence of drawbacks associated with the EA888 engine, I still believe that the EA888 is a pinnacle of modern powertrain engineering in the 21st century. Its innovative design and advanced features underscore its position as a leading technology in the automotive industry. Among its merits, its remarkable efficiency stands out, allowing for optimized fuel consumption and reduced environmental impact. Moreover, the engine's capability to minimize carbon emissions aligns perfectly with the growing emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendliness in today's society. Furthermore, the drivability of the vehicle were not compromised and could only provide a seamless and responsive driving experience to the user. In essence, while acknowledging its limitations, the EA888 engine remains a testament to ingenuity and progress, embodying the aspirations of modern automotive engineering.
